Edmund London & Associates has designed assisted living facilities such as the Swanton Healthcare and Retirement Center in Swanton, Ohio, the Grand Traverse Pavilions Cottages in Traverse City, Michigan, and the Church of Christ Assisted Living in Clinton Township, Michigan. These facilities provide an alternate living environment for elderly requiring assistance with daily living activities but not 24-hour nursing care. While living in a residential, non-institutional setting of studio, one- and two-bed room apartments, residents enjoy central activities and dining along with the necessary staff assistance to promote an active lifestyle.

ELA is experienced in the design of retirement communities that promote social interaction while maintaining privacy and independence. Recent projects include the 120-unit Lutheran Heritage Village in Holt, Michigan, the 132-unit Lutheran Heritage Village in Livonia, Michigan, and Lake Huron Woods Presbyterian Village in Fort Gratiot Township, Michigan. These projects combine one- and two-bed room apartments designed specifically for the frail elderly with common dining, lounge, and activity areas.
